Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been the subject of constant debates concerning everything from cut content to its seemingly incomplete narrative ever since its release in 2015. But regardless of how players actually felt about Hideo Kojima and publisher Konami's nasty (and very public) break-up, it was clear that something went wrong during development for the game to end up with the unresolved story threads and lack of endgame content that it suffers from in its second half.
Luckily, the PC release of the game has something going for it that the console versions don't: mods. These allow players to customize nearly every facet of the game, adding new side missions, increasing the difficulty, changing character models and much, much more. With that said, here are five of the best mods you can install right now to improve your Metal Gear Solid V experience.

This allows you to bypass all the hassle that comes with manually installing mods and just focus on finding the ones you like best. Infinite Heaven
If it's more content that you're after, look no further than the Infinite Heaven mod by tinmantex. Aimed at extending gameplay across all aspects of the game, Infinite Heaven adds several hundred customizable settings and features that can be toggled on and off as you see fit. These allow you to enable Subsistence mode for every mission, replay previously completed side-ops, trigger Mother Base invasions involving multiple attack choppers and add skulls and enemy patrols to free roam mode along with a ton of other options.

Morbid's Side-Op Expansion Pack
Morbid's Side-Op Expansion Pack is a DLC-sized mod that packs in 50 new side-missions with a wider variety of objectives and difficulty settings compared to the vanilla Side-Ops. These new objectives include prisoner elimination, weapon retrieval and vehicle sabotage, along with optional targets in almost every mission and remixed patrol routes to keep you on your toes. It requires the previously mentioned SnakeBite Mod Manager and Infinite Heaven mods to install, but it's worth the effort for the nearly eight hours of additional (and increasingly difficult) gameplay it adds to the base game.
Give Quiet Clothes
Are you tired of having Quiet's distracting lack of clothing constantly shoved in your face? Do you wish you could give her something a little more practical to wear as a soldier weathering the battlefields of Afghanistan and Africa? Well, you're in luck; this next mod is both incredibly self-explanatory and exactly what you’re looking for. Give Quiet Clothes does just that, allowing you to outfit your deadly sniper pal with her XOF Uniform both in-game as well as during cutscenes so that she's always actually dressed for the occasion.

John Wick and Johnny Silverhand
Playing as Punished "Venom" Snake in Metal Gear Solid V is incredibly fun. He's a stoic and effortlessly cool character that it makes silently eliminating his enemies one by one all the more enjoyable. But this last mod, called John Wick and Johnny Silverhand, takes it to another level by swapping Big Boss out for none other than Keanu Reeves himself. It allows you to play through the game as two of Reeves' most recent characters: Johnny Silverhand, a central figure from the upcoming action-RPG Cyberpunk 2077, and everyone's favorite suit-wearing, dog-loving assassin John Wick.
It's a pretty jarring experience to crawl through the sands of Afghanistan as Johnny Silverhand or sneak through the jungles of Africa in John Wick's trademark suit, but one thing's for certain: there couldn't be a more fitting way to get revenge for the Diamond Dogs.
